Roxborough is an epically beautiful and scenic planned community. It’s in the Littleton area, just south of Denver with the Rocky Mountains to the west. Roxborough is the crown jewel of a few planned suburban developments in the Denver metropolitan area that include the Ravenna, Roxborough Park, and Sterling Ranch neighborhoods. Roxborough has flourished into a small town in its own right with plenty of charm.
 
The Roxborough community itself is comprised of diverse home options including townhomes, and single-family homes. Residents of the Roxborough community have access to an array of amenities, such as playgrounds, open space areas, boating, water activities on Chatfield Reservoir, and trails for hiking and biking within its limits. High above Roxborough, the skyline is dominated by Carpenter’s Peak rising majestically above the horizon and visible from multiple locations around town. One cannot escape walking among the dramatic red rock formations typical of the area. This neighborhood has a 24-hour guarded entrance, 12 miles of privately maintained trails, and is surrounded by three nature preserves where wildlife abounds. The Club at Ravenna is a gorgeous gated private golfing community on 634 acres of natural wonder and scenery. It too has tremendous views of the Red Rocks and is a part of Roxborough. The Club at Ravenna just opened a show-stopping new clubhouse and boasts a world-class gym, swimming facilities, and an award-winning golf course. Just north of Roxborough is the new development of Sterling Ranch. This is one of the newest, biggest, and most dense planned living communities in the area and is still growing. There is already a strong sense of community in Sterling Ranch and residents are actively involved in future planning and development.

Sapore Prime Italian is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area where they serve a wide variety of pasta dishes, pizzas, and other entrees, with seafood and steak. The menu features a variety of appetizer choices including bruschetta and calamari fritti and an extensive wine list.

For traditional Asian cuisine, residents make their way to JP’s Asian Bistro. The cuisine includes both classic Chinese favorites, like General Tso’s chicken as well as Japanese dishes, such as teriyaki chicken or salmon sashimi. The atmosphere is fun and lively, especially when they have live music playing on the weekends. JP’s also provide takeout service so you can enjoy your meal outside in one of Roxborough's gorgeous parks.

Atlas Coffee is a popular spot for coffee, tea, and pastries, but that is not all. This location also includes a full bar, beer, and wine. It’s conveniently located next to Roxborough Elementary, so it’s a popular spot to hang out on the patio with a morning espresso or afternoon treat after dropping off or picking up the kids. 

Roxborough is, of course, loved by many for its tremendous golf courses and clubs. Not only is the golfing terrific, but so is the food. The On the Rocks Bar and Grill is inside Arrowhead Golf Club, just a few minutes away from Roxborough Park. Their menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more. On certain nights, they also have live music playing on their outdoor patio.
 

Things to Do

One of the many great things about living in Roxborough is that it’s close to many recreational amenities including two amazing State Parks: Roxborough State Park and Chatfield State Park. Roxborough State Park offers a variety of activities for every kind of nature-loving individual. There are hiking trails that range from easy to difficult, picnic areas, and camping spots for tent camping or RV rentals. There are also two lakes within the park that can be used for fishing or boating. It’s a popular recreation area with spectacular views of the Front Range and the Great Plains.
 
Chatfield State Park is another of Colorado's most popular state parks adjacent to Roxborough. It’s a perfect spot to spend a day with your friends or family to enjoy boating or fishing on Lake Granby or take a hike along the top of Lookout Mountain Trailhead. It features 10 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding and has several lakes stocked with fish.
 
Hiking and mountain biking are also popular activities at Waterton Canyon. The park is open year-round and has miles of trails along Cherry Creek. Roxborough residents enjoy camping here or choose a horseback riding adventure. Keep your eyes open for wildlife because there are plenty of bighorn sheep in this area.

Of course, one cannot speak of recreation around Roxborough without mentioning golf. The nearby 17-hole par 70 public course at Arrowhead Golf Course is a natural wonder. The gorgeous, manicured green is startling against the majestic and dramatic towering rock formations of the area. The Club at Ravenna is a luxurious and exclusive golf course and country club.
 

Schools

The public schools in Roxborough Park are highly rated and part of the Douglas County School District. Families also enjoy the choice of several private and charter schools.
